Director R&D / Senior Scientist – Human Nutrition & Health

As our new Director R&D/Senior Scientist, you will have the opportunity to drive groundbreaking research and innovation in one of the most exciting fields today: marine-based ingredients for human health.
In this role, you will expand the scientific frontier by documenting the biological and clinical effects of krill and other marine-derived nutrients. You will lead clinical trials in collaboration with CROs and universities, explore novel hypotheses, and turn insights into knowledge that inspires our industry and shapes the future of health.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for driving research and clinical development that expands our knowledge of marine-based nutrition. Your work will span from scientific exploration to clinical validation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct and publish research within human nutrition and health, staying updated on relevant scientific developments.
- Proactively identify new indications and potential benefits of krill-derived ingredients.
- Contribute to the development of long-term science strategy, and prepare applications for public research funding.
- Communicate new knowledge effectively across the organization and provide scientific support to sales, marketing, and communication.
- Plan, design, and monitor clinical trials in collaboration with CROs and universities.
- Review literature, develop novel hypotheses, and establish strong external partnerships and contracts.
- Prepare trial reports, publications, and presentations to document and share findings.
- Support relevant projects and ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- PhD in life sciences, MD, PharmD or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience from pharma, biotech, nutraceutical or related industry
- Proven track record in managing preclinical and clinical trials
- Strong experience with CROs (protocol design and study execution)
- Experience with phospholipids, omega-3s, and brain health is an advantage
- Excellent ability to design, lead and evaluate clinical research
- Strong communicator, able to engage stakeholders across science, commercial and regulatory fields
The Director R&D/Senior Scientist will be based at our head offices in Fornebu, Norway, or remote in Europe. Some international travel will be required.
