We are now looking for three Global Category Directors to lead and grow some of our most exciting categories:

Krill Oil (including Superba® Krill – our flagship krill oil brand)

Algae (including Revervia – our new brand in the algal oil category)

Brain Health (including Lysoveta – our novel LPC-based ingredient)

These are senior leadership roles with global, cross-functional responsibility in a dynamic matrix organization. Each Category Director will own and lead the strategy for their respective category, from positioning and innovation to customer engagement and commercial growth – working closely with colleagues across different departments and regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead category strategy development and execution globally.

Manage and optimize the brand- and product portfolios within the respective categories.

Drive innovation pipelines aligned with science, market trends, and customer needs.

Build and maintain strong cross-functional collaboration (Sales, R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Supply Chain, etc).

Track trends and competitive landscape, and translate insights from markets, customers and consumers into strategy and concrete execution plans.

Support regional commercial teams with compelling category stories, launch packages, and customer engagement tools.

Represent the category in customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Lead and develop a dedicated Brand Manager and motivate and cooperate with cross-functional teams.

Role Specific Focus:

Category Director - Krill Oil

Drive continued growth and leadership of our krill oil business. (including Superba® Krill).

Ensure strong positioning and execution across our regional markets.

Lead the krill oil innovation pipeline, reflecting market trends and needs.

Experience with and understanding of the omega-3 value chain is a strong advantage.

Category Director – Algae

Build Aker BioMarine’s presence in the highly competitive algal oil market.

Shape a differentiated value proposition and competitive product portfolio.

Establish partnerships to accelerate market entry and credibility.

Experience with and understanding of the omega-3 value chain is a strong advantage.

Category Director – Brain Health (LPC)

Build and lead a new category centered around Lysoveta, our novel LPC-based ingredient.

Define target markets, validate scientific claims, and drive adoption in key customer segments.

Champion Lysoveta externally, driving scientific credibility and market awareness

Entrepreneurial mindset and strong understanding of ingredient science required.

Desired characteristics:

• Strategic thinker with strong execution drive.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Ability to inspire, influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
• Strong communicator, both internally and externally.
• Curious, entrepreneurial, and science-driven mindset.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in category management, commercial strategy, or business development within nutraceuticals, functional foods, or health ingredients.
• Proven track record in portfolio management, product innovation, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
• Proven track record in building and launching new ingredient categories or business platforms (in case of Category Director roles within Algae and Brain Health categories)
• Experience from matrix organizations, with ability to lead through influence as well as direct management.
• Strong analytical skills and hands-on problem-solving approach.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
